Jerangau merah in Sarawak

One of the most highly prized medicinal herbs in Borneo is the jerangau merah, scientific name boesenbergia stenophylla.

This ginger is endemic to the highlands of Borneo. Traditional use of jerangau merah is to for all stomach ailments including bloating and excessive gas. Its beneficial use to fight food poisoning and alcohol intoxication is also widely documented.

Availability of jerangau merah is limited for the time being as we work with villagers to grow more of it in an agroforestry setting in the highlands of Sarawak.

Please contact us if you're interested in the jerangau merah. How much we grow will depend on how much demand there is. Do note that this plant species will not grow well in environments other than those found in the highlands of Sarawak, Let us grow your need!
